Muriel Watkins, President of MW Financial Inc., has been elected to the board of The Public Manager, a quarterly journal affiliated with the National Academy of Public Administration and the American Society for Public Administration. Ms. Watkins was asked to join the board at an exciting new beginning -- a new publisher, the Logistics Management Institute (LMI), and a focus on enhancing the publication's Internet presence.

MW Financial Inc. has been selected by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) as a contractor for Funding and Certification Application Reviews. The CDFI Fund promotes community and economic revitalization by providing financial and tech financial institutions. MW Financial Inc. will provide program support though the review of applications for the Financial Assistance Component and the Technical Assistance Component and certification reviews for CDFI, Community Development Entity (CDE) and the New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program.

Organized and moderated panel, "Federal Grants and E-Grants - Identifying and Applying for Public Safety Grants Online," for the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Conference, Indianapolis, Indiana, August 2003. The panel highlighted two of the federal E-Government (G2G) initiatives: 1) a first responder wireless interoperable technology solution in evelopment by the Chicago Police Department a TOP public safety grant recipient and 2) features of the E-Grants initiative,Grants.gov, for identifying funding for public safety.
